The drone map of Germany shows the different areas of German airspace. Before you start flying a drone, you should check which airspace you want to fly in and whether drone flying is permitted. The different airspaces are shown on the drone map by location, including no-fly zones.
Interactive drone map for Germany
Before flying a drone, you need to check which airspace you will be flying in. There are different types of airspace in Germany. Below you will find an overview of the different zones.
Based on Dipul:
- Unmarked areas (open airspace)
- Aviation areas (red)
- Protected natural areas (green)
- Built-up areas (yellow)
- Industrial areas (blue)
- Roads and railways (gray)
On the map of Dipul you can find the different airspaces. You can enter an address or select a location using a pin. You can see if there are airports, buildings, nature reserves or industry near the location. This is marked on the map with the colors mentioned above.
Different rules and distance criteria apply to flying a drone depending on the area. The following text explains the drone rules and distance criteria for each area.
Drone flight near airfields and airports
The minimum distance that the drone must maintain from small airports is 1.5 kilometers. At large airports, the minimum distance that must be maintained with the drone is 5 kilometers at the front and back of the runway. A minimum distance of 2 kilometers on each side must be maintained on the side of the runway.
Drone flight over residential areas and buildings
Privacy must always be respected. The flight takes place between 06:00 and 22:00. There must be no noise pollution and you need the permission of the residents or there must be a necessary interest.
Drone flight near roads
A minimum distance of 10 meters applies. The distance to roads must be at least as great as the height. If a drone flies at a height of 50 meters, the distance from the road should be at least 50 meters. Waterways may be flown over quickly at an altitude of 100-120 meters if no ships or other water traffic are in sight.
Drone flights over nature reserves
You are allowed to carry out drone flights over nature reserves at an altitude of 100 to 120 meters. The drone flight must have a purpose. Flying for private purposes is not permitted in a nature reserve.
