We now offer a comprehensive range of education and training for both recreational and professional drone pilots. In this blog we list all the ways to immerse yourself in unmanned aviation at the Drone Class flight school.

Certified and accredited trainer

First of all, it is good to know that Drone Class is an official instructor authorized to give exams (both theoretical and practical):

There is (still) no separate accreditation for the SORA practice. We combine SORA with the practical requirements for STS-01 etc. as this fits well in terms of risk level and the ILT currently only issues operating licenses for the two lowest SAIL levels.

EU drone driving license

From 250g, every pilot first acquires the basic certificate A1-A3. Among other things, you will become familiar with the most important drone rules, safety, data protection and insurance for your aircraft. If your aircraft has a C2 marking, you must also purchase the additional A2 certificate. This course particularly focuses on meteorology, flight preparation and battery knowledge.

With everything you have in your pocket, you can fly to all EU countries, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland this summer.

Get the most out of your aircraft by learning about photography, videography and visual inspections.

Basic Training Specific Category

If you actually want to get rid of the limitations of the open category, you can learn the specific category. Please note that in addition to the mandatory training, you must always operate with an operating license issued by the ILT.

Our basic training comes in three versions:

• Just theory
  If you would like to first acquire the EASA STS theory certificate.
• Theory and VLOS practical part
  The EASA STS theory certificate combined with learning to prepare and conduct VLOS operations in the special category.
• Theory and BVLOS practical part
  The EASA STS theory certificate combined with learning the preparation and execution of BVLOS operations in the special category.

You will complete the practical part with a flight plan and a test flight. For VLOS you must at least demonstrate mastery of ATTI mode. For BVLOS you must fly yourself (not automatic flight). Flight lessons are near Arnhem (NL).
